Mission planning is a feature available in episodic missions that allows players to gain access to different starting points, smuggled items and gear Scatter Slots prior to their entry into the map. These options for planning expand as players advance through challenges and gain higher Mission Mastery levels. This lets players prepare the ideal mission for every challenge.

Early on in the game players will find their gear slots rapidly become full, resulting in the common "Your Gear Slots are full" message, which blocks Max from picking new equipment until the old ones are removed or space is found. Each player has up to five different kinds of gear in their five Gear bonus round slots. They must be selected from the Gear Selection menu prior to the break-in. Each individual gear item (except the Pistol) occupies one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like Grenades of the same type) only uses one Gear Slot.

As you advance through the Mission Mastery levels you unlock different agency pickups on the map. These locations allow you to store an item that does not fit into your slot for weapons or gear and retrieve them later.
These pickups are particularly useful if you need to pass through a frisk in the course of the game or if you're carrying a weapon that could otherwise cause suspicion. You are only able to hide only one item at a pick-up location.
This DLC also adds new asset protection and security contracts to the agency. To begin these missions, simply contact the receptionist at the agency and stock up on armor and snacks. Once you've reached the marker, identify a mob upon arrival.
